WATERS AT TOBAY BEACH, ORCHARD BEACH ON LONG ISLAND EVACUATED DUE TO POSSIBLE SHARK SIGHTING
Long Island Strong. 7/23/2015: The waters at two beaches have been evacuated on Long Island after beach-goers spotted what appeared to be a shark. The sighting was at Tobay Beach in Oyster Bay. As a result, people were told to get out of the water there and also at adjacent Orchard Beach. Swimmers have not been told to get out of the water at nearby Jones Beach. Nassau County police are flying over the area in a helicopter, and have not yet spotted a shark.
